About Northern Front
Northern Front is a hobby site about the Canadian Army in the Second World War, written for tabletop wargamers and model builders.
Who runs it
This site is run by Warlord Minis, an authorized Warlord Games retailer that ships across Canada from Edmonton, Alberta. We'd rather say so up front than hide it.
How it makes money
Some pages link to kits on the Warlord Minis store. Those links carry a tracking tag (utm_source=northernfront) so we can see whether the site is useful. We only link to products that are listed on the store when the page is built. If a kit that would suit a Canadian force isn't stocked, we say that rather than pointing you at something that doesn't fit.
The Remembrance page has no store links.
Our rules for this site
- History is sourced. Dates, unit names and casualty figures come from Veterans Affairs Canada, the Canadian War Museum, The Canadian Encyclopedia, Library and Archives Canada and similar sources, listed at the foot of each page and on the sources page. Where sources give different figures, we say so.
- No rules text. We don't reproduce rules, unit profiles or points values from any game. Scenario pages describe history and table layout only.
- Nothing invented. No made-up reviews, events, battle reports or statistics.
- Respect. These were real people, and many of them didn't come home. We try to write accordingly.
Not Warlord Games
Northern Front is independent. It is not run or endorsed by Warlord Games. Bolt Action and Warlord Games are trademarks of Warlord Games Ltd.
